As an account payable clerk you will verify that invoices presented for payment have proper approval, researches and applies correct accounting code, generate vendor payment, acquire check signatures, prepare check payments for distribution, maintain physical accounts payable records on an ongoing and timely basis.
You will also maintain a current standing with vendors with timely reconciliation of vendor accounts/statements.
You will also be expected to help with other office functions including but not limited to answering phones, taking payment, customer service and cross training.
Your essential functions will include but are not limited to:
Assume all data related to the accounting function is confidential and private.
Maintain discretion regarding all company data.
Ensure parts and service invoices are charged to units prior to being sold or exited by comparing invoices received from various departments each week before sale day.
Code invoices, enter invoices into accounting system, schedule payments and generate checks.
Generate open invoice report and compares to actual invoices before check generation.
Match check copies with vendor invoices for filing records.
Generate checks on an ad hoc basis with proper approval.
Maintain physical payment records as they are generated.
Other accounting duties as assigned.
Reconcile vendor statements to accounting records monthly, research discrepancies, request invoice copies and approvals for payment as needed.
Ability to organize essential tasks and manage time wisely in a busy work environment.
Manage deposits to the operating account Clear and file outgoing wires/paperwork Carolina Auto Auction is Family Owned and Operated.
Candidate must possess the following competencies.
